So my new thing is to browse the internet for things I'm interested in and learn about them. Well... it's not really a new thing, but I was really thinking about it today because I came across a course that I want to take and realized that this will be the second course I'll be going through at no cost to me, should I be accepted.
The first course was an online webinar class about online business and the internet economy, and I have to say that it always inspires me. I mean, every time I participate, I generate a TON of great ideas and take notes in order to make the most of my learning experience, and it is AMAZING! Truly.
No here's what really amazes me: I can enter a search term, press Enter, and instantly be taken to an entire list of information about whatever term I happened to type in.
I can literally learn anything online.
So why bring it up? I mean it is a little obvious that that's what the internet is even there for, but imagine the possibilities. You can find, read, watch, and get free tutorials on any subject, activity, or art from that you can find. You can learn to use any software, learn to change the oil on your car, or how to boil eggs.
My solution for every problem has now become Google it.
I guess the reason I'm bringing this up is because I had to quit college because my financial aid ran out. Unfortunately, money is tight for me right now, too, so continuing and paying out-of-pocket was not an option, either. But since then, I've been reading a ton of books on writing, doing more research online about whatever topic I end up finding an interest in, and even finding information about unexplained or mysterious creatures, aliens, and occurrences for short stories and novels I'm either already working on or have plans for in the future.
I kind of feel like if I stop learning - if I don't find out some new thing every day or have something to be excited about every day - then I lose all motivation.
My most inspirational activity? Writing! I also enjoy networking, but not nearly as much. And then there's the book review process... I love to read and review books, so that whole thing is just awesome. Free books = free book review = more people who know about my sites and what I'm trying to accomplish through literature and by shedding light on domestic violence.
However you found my blog or web site and whatever you're searching for, I hope you're doing it to learn or make a difference by following what you're passionate about in life. Believe it or not, that's the absolute best thing you can do for yourself, and learning what you love to learn is a fun part of that.
I may not be decorated with a lot of degrees, but I constantly learn new things and am therefore always entertained! =)
