I'm supposed to be cleaning.
How familiar does that sound, right? Honestly, though, it's really warm today and I would prefer to write something. So maybe I'll work on my next novel or finish putting together the next short horror stories eBook... I'm not sure.
I really need to get my space perfected, though.
You know how when you're surrounded by clutter you tend to feel overwhelmed and unmotivated? That's the case for me, anyway... it stinks, too, because just when I have things under control, the tornado named Gabe comes rushing through and destroys things.
Before I do that, though, I want to share something I realized earlier while reviewing an indie book.
The book was decent, not fantastic... but what really sealed that opinion for me was the fact that the formatting was inconsistent and the entire book needed at least one or two revisions and an editor.
I will need an editor as soon as I can afford one - hahaha. All this creativity and skill but no money! What's going on here? Oh, I know... I suck at marketing, that's right. LOL
So I've decided to go on a mini-mission to learn more about internet marketing and motivating myself to do more in working toward success. I may be a writer, but I'm also a business owner... I have to be able to think in both directions.
In other news, and just to get this off my chest, I'm planning to quit smoking and get healthier overall. I need all the luck I can get with this... I've never been too horribly fond of exercise, but let's face it: age doesn't make this stuff any easier! I'm turning 28 this summer and my body is definitely feeling all of my past bad habits catching up to me.
On that note - it's time for me to get back to it so I can make money, sell books, and generally be a little more successful every day. I've been commissioned to write another eBook, which means I'll be working on that for the next couple of weeks, too.
It's so funny because I don't get paid royalties for this but I do get paid to write it - I'm just hoping that it helps to promote my name some more.
Keep an eye out for my next post because it will have a link to a piece I wrote about domestic violence and my journal habit - and how it helped me. That should be happening in the next few days, so I'll update then!
Happy Monday, everyone =).
